Lunar days, the phases of the moon of the lunar calendar in May 2015
Ëóííûé êàëåíäàðü - íà÷àëî
If the Sun in astrology represents our conscious will, determines the individual shape, the Moon is responsible for the emotions of the unconscious,
our instinctive reaction is the inner world of the individual. Moon is the part of our soul, which reacts before we have time to think and realize.
Notes to the lunar calendar

Lunar year, lunar month, lunar day

Use the lunar calendar by people began much earlier than the solar calendar. Since ancient times, people lived exactly in accordance with the lunar rhythms, they understood that the effect of the Moon on the Earth is not weaker, and perhaps even stronger than the sun. In ancient Rome, after each new moon priests publicly reported beginning of the month, called the date of the lunar phases. Now we live on the solar calendar, in the rhythms of the sun, but the accounting data of the lunar calendar in our daily life is still relevant if we want to feel good about themselves and succeed.
Lunar Year. Earth year lasts 365 days, but it is - the length of the solar year. It was during this time, the Earth makes a complete revolution around the sun. If we lived in the lunar calendar, the year would have lasted 354.36 Earth days - this is the length of the lunar year.
A Lunar Day is the period of time it takes for the Earth's Moon to complete one full rotation on its axis with respect to the Sun. Equivalently, it is the time it takes the Moon to make one complete orbit around the Earth and come back to the same phase. It is marked from a new moon to the next new moon. Lunar day is longer than a sunny day. Lunar day lasts 24 hours 48 minutes - that is how much time passes from one moonrise to the next. Lunar Days - those that are described in the astrological traditions of the World - are quite different from the familiar calendar days. The First Lunar Day always begins at the moment of the New Moon. Each subsequent day begins at the moment of moonrise in the given location. This means that Lunar Days are location-specific: the moment of moonrise depends on the longitude and latitude of the location and so even if two cities are located in the same time zone (say, New York and Boston), there will be a more or less substantial difference between their Lunar Days.
By the way, scientists who study biological rhythms, found that the human biological clock (property of the brain that allows us to accurately feel the time and wake up at the right time without an alarm clock) "wound up" about 24,5-25 hours, that is more in tune with the rhythms of the moon, than the sun. Maybe that's why many people always suffer from a lack of time? It say about them: "He is 24 hours in a day is not enough!" Or maybe they do not have this particular missing lunar hours?
The lunar month is shorter than our usual solar month. In the lunar month of 29.53 Earth days.
Moonlit night (Lunar twenty-four hours) - this time, which runs from sunrise to moonrise. With the exception of the first lunar day: they start at the time of the new moon, and it does not coincide with the moment of sunrise. End first lunar day, at the time of the next new moon after the rising of the moon. Therefore, the first lunar day can be very short.
Sometimes, in the lunar month of 29 lunar days, and sometimes - 30. Thirties lunar day can also be very short: they do not end with the nearest rising moon, and at the time of the new moon, which can happen between two lunar sunrise. The duration of all other lunar day is about the same.

Critical points of the Moon

In the lunar month, there are four critical points - these are the days of precise phases. They are listed in the calendar.
These days, the moon and sun are at a critical angular distance from each other to form a tight, inharmonious or stress aspects. These are the days of turning points of the cycle.
Two main criticisms of the day - it's a new moon (distance 0 deg) and full moon (distance 180 deg.).
Two intermediate - is growing (in the first quarter) and falling (in the third quarter) squaring the Moon to the Sun. During the 1st and 3rd quarters of the moon is from the Sun at an angular distance of 90 degrees.

The first quarter of the lunar month there is usually 7-8 lunar day; the second - from 14 to 17 lunar day, the third quarter - at 22-23 and night. Fourth Quarter - is the end of one of the lunar month and the beginning of a new one.
Four critical points of the lunar month - according to statistics, during accidents and disasters, disease exacerbation. In these days of internal processes in the human body and psyche are unstable. Any business these days is experiencing a temporary crisis. Folk wisdom warns against making important decisions in the critical days of the moon.
Archetypal waxing Moon is associated with the manifestation in the material sphere, and falling Moon - with the growth of the spiritual. But there is a lunar month, and days that are best suited for the beginning of anything was new.

What about the discrepancies in the counting of the age of the moon
(number of lunar day)

In different sources there are discrepancies in the calculation of the age of the moon. This is due to the fact that the movement of the moon is extremely uneven. Therefore, the accuracy of the formulas for the determination of the lunar day, such a formula Harvey is plus-minus one day.

Hence the differences in the one day of our lunar calendar with some other calendars. What to do? Do not worry! Remember that the key is to know the phases of the moon and the position of the Moon in the sign of the Zodiac.

But do not forget, the calendar is advisory in nature. When making decisions rely more on themselves.

Features account lunar days

Looking at the moon, you will notice that the sight of her every day is changing - from a small crescent to full disk. On the day of the new moon (the day before the new moon) the moon in the sky is not visible. It can be seen only by the middle or end of the next day. What is not generally represent a digit zero. So, take lunar days most naturally with zero: 0, 1, 2, 3 ...
(zero corresponds to the new moon day of the moon). But lunar days thus counted is not always. The fact that zero invented much later lunar calendar, and ancient calendars account lunar days were with units 1, 2, 3, 4 ... (in some calendars, the system still preserved). It's the same thing to start with unit scale ruler - this line will always show more than 1 cm! Of course, it is very inconvenient. But in those early years there was no other choice - because zero was not yet invented. Later this difficulty were able to bypass the Tibetan lunar calendar: the day of the new moon it was seen as the 30th lunar day, the final month.
